What are the methods of car ignition coil inspection?

The automotive ignition coil is mainly composed of a primary coil, a secondary coil and an iron core. In the ignition system, the ignition coil is used to change the low-voltage electricity into high-voltage electricity, so that the spark plug produces an electric spark. Generally speaking, the failure rate of engine ignition systems is high.

The following describes two methods of checking ignition coil faults: visual inspection and inspection with a multimeter.

(1) Intuitive inspection. The main inspection is whether the insulation cover of the ignition coil is dirty or broken, and whether the terminal posts are loose and rusted. If there is dirt, rust, the seedlings are cleaned and then inspected I If the insulation cover is damaged, the ignition coil should be replaced.

(2) Check with a multimeter. Generally, the resistance of its primary and secondary line shafts is measured. Its value should match the standard value, otherwise it means that the ignition coil is faulty and the ignition wire should be replaced. The insulation resistance is measured by measuring the resistance between the wire terminal post (any one) of the ignition coil and the housing with the resistance block of the multimeter, and its value should not be less than 50MΩ.
